Samantha Bee, Sinking Ship Entertainment Team for Kid’s Sketch Show ‘Best Day Ever’

Samantha Bee and Kristen Everman’s Swimsuit Competition production company is partnering with Sinking Ship Entertainment to produce a sketch comedy series for kids, Variety has learned exclusively.
Titled “Best Day Ever,” the single-camera show is described as having a style similar to more adult-themed sketch shows like “I Think You Should Leave” and “Key and Peele,” but featuring adults only in supporting roles. The show hails from producer, director, and writer Allana Harkin. The project will be taken out at MIPCOM 2022.

It will cover the “urgent mess” that is women’s health care in America from abortion rights and birth control to the wellness industry which has preyed on the lack of information and care available to women. It aims to be an antidote to misinformation and a view into how America has utterly failed women.

The mysterious world of billionaire girlbosses and tastemakers in Laura Hankin’s A Special Place for Women is coming to television.
In a competitive situation, Paramount Television Studios has acquired the rights to develop Hankin’s upcoming mystery novel into a television series, with the author set to adapt and executive produce. Samantha Bee and Kristen Everman will also executive produce via their Swimsuit Competition banner.

Samantha Bee is throwing her sash into the competitive world of narrative and documentary television with the newly-formed production company Swimsuit Competition which, she wants to make very clear, is NOT a scholarship program.
TBS’s Emmy-winning late night host will create original content that she and team find amusing and would definitely spend a weekend binge watching.
Bee’s production company, Swimsuit Competition, co-founded with Full Frontal producer Kristen Everman, makes funny, compelling, and inclusive pageants scripted and non-scripted television, podcasts and live events.
